The Cay moral....

The Cay Moral

Last term in English we read The Cay

The moral of the story that I understood from the themes of the book is "War spreads family apart, but it also then creates stronger friendships".

I give The Cay a 4 and a half star rating, and my comment about the book is that how you should always treat others with respect because you may never know whats going on.

  1. Kia ora Tristan,

Isn't this a great story? I remember reading it as a twelve year old and being really drawn into the story. It is a very clear memory for me. I re-read that at the end of 2018 and still found it to be excellent. I think you have pulled out a key theme that runs through the book. What parts made you feel that was a key theme?

For me I would have said another theme in the book was how you shouldn't judge people based on their race or age, that everyone has something to offer.

Keep up the great learning and blogging,
